TRAIN RIDE TO ANOTHER TIME
A couple of weeks ago, I went for the first time for a train ride on the valley of the Vaser river (Maramureș, Romania)  to another era.

Steam locomotives from another time, which were once used to transport wood from the forest on such narrow rails that made you wonder how they do not overturn, now bring joy to the faces of tourists.

The river and the forest, hundreds or even thousands of years old, meet last century's trains and the people of today. I couldn't help but think nostalgically of the times in my life that have already gone by, like when I took the train for a vacation at my grandparents' or at the seaside.

Trains used to be the most popular mode of transportation for long distances in my country in the '90s and early 2000s when I was growing up. That may have been because most people, including my family, couldn't afford a car. And perhaps, in a way, it was better. Unfortunately, now the railway system and the trains themselves are so poorly maintained that the 10-15 car trains going to the seaside in the summer, for example, are only a memory and people prefer their own car as a way to get around.

I suppose that like the steam locomotive and vintage train in this album, which are now only a tourist attraction, so will all other technologies become obsolete at one point and only serve as curiosities from another time.
Thank you for stopping by!
